Looking to extend the life of your iPhone 6 and provide it a good amount of protection. ZeroLemon has you covered with the ZeroShock iPhone 6 Battery Case. How does it stack up? Find out in the full review after the break!
No joking around, this case does add considerable bulk to your iPhone 6. It’s essentially got two layers of protection and a 4600 mAh removable battery. The ZeroLemon ZeroShock provided us with essentially two full charges from zero on our iPhone 6.
Protection was provided by the ZeroLemon ZeroShock through the inner solid frame and an outer shock layer. The protection came at the cost of bulk, but the case will damn near survive a nuclear blast (well maybe not a nuclear blast…). Installation wasn’t as easy as we would have liked but we never ran into any snags while trying to remove or reinstall the case. All the ports and connections have covers on them for protection purposes however the annoyance came with using the 3.5mm jack. An accessory came with the ZeroLemon ZeroShock that will allow you to use headphones even with the recessed jack. Another issue was due to the thickness of the case it was difficult to reach the vibrate switch due to the recessed nature of the cut out.
Charging the ZeroLemon ZeroShock was a breeze with the included micro USB cable. We cannot wait for lightning passthrough battery cases but this will suffice for the time being.
We didn’t experience any issues with the camera flash while using our iPhone 6 in the ZeroShock case and nothing was obstructed by the case itself. The matte finish of the case provided a great grip on the iPhone 6 however given the additional size of the case, it was difficult to place in our pants pocket.
The included belt clip worked wonders and we were easily able to slide the ZeroLemon ZeroShock into and out of it. The belt clip is almost a necessity as we can’t really see the ZeroShock fitting in any pants pocket.
The fit and finish of the ZeroLemon ZeroShock Battery Case was great with no remnant remaining from the manufacturing process. All the port and switch cutouts were clean and no rough edges were seen at all.
Overall, the ZeroLemon ZeroShock does provide impressive shock protection and a great amount of extended battery life to our iPhone 6. The only downsides are the increase in bulk and the annoyance of the recessed cutouts for the vibrate switch and the 3.5mm jack. If you’re looking for great protection combined with awesome battery life, the ZeroLemon ZeroShock is the case for you, but make sure you’re ok with using the belt clip as this case will most likely not fit in your pants pocket.
