We recently reviewed the Folio from Urban Armor Gear for the iPhone 6 and now we have the Outland for the iPhone 6 Plus. How does this high impact one piece case perform? Find out in the full review after the break!
Unlike the Folio from UAG, the Outland is a simple case that slips on over the iPhone 6 Plus easily. One of the first things that UAG gets right with the Outland is include a screen protector. In many cases, case manufacturers always forget (or choose to not include) a screen protector. The fact that the UAG Outland does not have a front cover creates the need for a screen protector and we’re super grateful that they chose to include one.
From a manufacturing quality standpoint the UAG Outland is pretty good. All button openings are well aligned and allow for easy access. The camera cut out is always well aligned and created no bounce back issues during photo taking. One of the downsides we did notice was there was some leftover flash material left from the molding process around the two reflector elements on the back of the UAG Outland. Not a very large issue but given our experience with the UAG Folio we were hoping for similar attention to detail on the Outland.
Durability was not an issue at all with the Outland during our tests. We dropped it a few times during our week of usage and it stood up well to the punishment. Given the high impact construction of the Outland we expected no less.
Overall the UAG Outland is a great case if you’re looking for high impact protection for your iPhone 6 Plus without the extra bulk that a case like the UAG Folio might possess. It was a great addition to have a good screen protector included with the Outland as well. The only thing holding back the UAG Outland is the manufacturing material we spotted on the back of the case that was leftover during the molding process.
