We got a chance to test out the Incase Reform Sling Pack, the latest to join their Reform Collection. The Incase Reform Sling Pack was made for the 12″ Macbook. How does it stack up? Find out in our full review.
Incase is known for beautifully crafted products and the Reform Sling Pack is no different. The Sling Pack itself is made out of Heather Gray material and withstood wear really well during our testing period. The Heather Gray material does have a bit of water-repellent abilities but it’s not waterproof.
The largest compartment in the Reform Sling Pack is well padded for storing an iPad, or Apple’s latest 12″ Macbook.
The storage compartments are abundant on the Sling Pack. The strap itself has a small zippered storage area but does not really store anything other than a pair of keys or a few pens. It would have been nice to have the strap storage area be able to handle a smartphone. One issue we did have with the strap is it does not possess much padding. With a light load the Reform Sling Pack’s comfort shouldn’t be an issue, but as we loaded it up more and more (including a small tripod), some discomfort did arise after several hours hiking around with it.
The adjustment capability of the Incase Reform Sling Pack was fantastic given the quick release clasp. We were able to extend (so we could swing it to the front of us to grab something), or easily tighten while on-the-go.
There is a secret storage pocket that is located in the back padding of the Reform Sling Pack. The secret pocket on the Sling Pack was hidden so well that had we not been told about it, we never would have found it. The pocket is large enough to store things like passports, or smartphones like an iPhone 6 Plus. The compartment is well padded and works well to store small electronics or documents of value.
The Incase Reform Sling Pack’s zippered compartment with internal organization works well to store other items like charging cables, power bricks, pens and styluses.
The zippers themselves were nice and smooth during use. We have tested many products in the past which boast easy open zippers but end up being really difficult to use due to the zippers not functioning properly. The fit and finish of the Incase Reform Sling Pack is impeccable with not a single loose thread.
Overall, the Incase Reform Sling Pack is a beautifully designed bag that will carry and protect your stuff. The only thing we might suggest is increase the amount of padding on the shoulder strap and you’ve got one hell of a sling bag.
