When you’re always on the go, it’s difficult to try and get all your portable electronics charged. HyperJuice has got their own solution to your on the go charging troubles with the Plug 18,000 mAh battery pack. Does it hold its own in the sea of competitors? Find out in the full review after the break!
At 18,000 mAh the HyperJuice Plug will provide a ton of juicing power for your on the go needs, the downside is this thing does weigh quite a bit at 16 oz. With 2 10W USB ports, we were able to quickly charge all of our peripheral needs. We were actually able to recharge the iPad Mini Retina several times over with extra power to spare.
One of the most unique features of the HyperJuice Plug was the retractable prongs for plugging directly into the wall for charging. Other battery packs that we have tested in the past usually require mini USB cables that we tend to misplace. With the retractable prongs, you’re never without the ability to recharge your HyperJuice Plug. Depending the wall outlet you’re using, sometimes it is a bit loose when plugged in.
While the charging indicator provides an easy way to determine how much poser you have left in your HyperJuice Plug, it creates a rather annoying side effect. When plugged into the wall the indicators continuously blink while being charged, and there is no way to really disable this.
While the Plug is made out of durable aluminum, the surface is relatively easy to scratch and scuff. A matte finish is always the better way to go with regards to durability and scratch protection.
Overall, the HyperJuice Plug 18,000 mAh Battery Pack lived up to our expectations possessing tremendous charging power at 18,000 mAh. The unique retractable charging prongs, there’s no fear of losing charging cables to keep your battery pack juiced. The HyperJuice Plug is not without its faults, it scratches easily and weighs quite a bit.
